Pupils of the Dancers School were chosen to perform in the Pavilion Theatre's professional pantomine for the 2017 season.

Here's what some of the pupils thought of the experience:

“The pantomime “Cinderella” was such an amazing experience and opportunity for me. The thrill of being on stage was incredible and I had so much fun. All the people were so encouraging as well. It was great to be surrounded by people who share the same passion for dance as me! I especially enjoyed the build-up with all the amazing costumes to try on, and learning the dances. The pantomime gave me such an exciting build up to Christmas and New Year, with the enthusiastic atmosphere given by the cast while performing. I made so many funny and happy memories with my team – I really hope I will be able to do it again!"

"This year I was lucky enough to be picked for the “Cinderella” pantomime. It was lots of hard work, but I loved every minute of it. There were lots of rehearsals at the studio which started in the summer, but it was great when we got to try on our costumes.

The first show I felt quite nervous, but all of the cast members were so friendly, and as soon as the curtains opened, I wasn’t scared any more. The time went so quickly and I was really sad when the show ended. My favourite parts about it were making lots of new friends, and performing in front of an audience every other day for a month. I hope I get the chance to be in the pantomime again next year."

Cinderella is now the second pantomime that I have been a junior dancer in, and I would love to take part in many more. I love every minute of it – the experience is amazing and you make some special friendships. We start off with many rehearsals preparing us for the live shows, and lots of costume fittings to make sure they are a perfect fit for each team. All of the cast and backstage crew make you feel very welcome and at ease during the pantomime. It’s a very hilarious and fun time with lots of great people. Everybody is always sad when the last show comes to an end, but we all treasure it in our hearts."

I was so excited to be in the pantomime this year. I got to work with some actors that had been on TV and it was nice to dance on the big stage with my friends. I loved every minute of it and had the time of my life. I loved the costumes – some were funny and some I loved. The show was great and I would definitely like to do it again.

My first pinto was the best panto! I made lots of friends and the cast were nice as well. It was very tiring but I had a really fun experience. I would love the opportunity to do it next year. The costumes were fabulous and in rehearsal we all laughed a lot. It was a pleasure to do the panto with my new friends and hopefully I may get in next year. Thank you Jayne and all the cast. Good luck for 2018!
