Nothing is More Revealing Than
I KNOW EVERYONE IS MISSING DANCING WITH THEIR FRIENDS, AND IT REALLY ISN'T THE SAME DANCING IN YOUR LOUNGE OR KITCHEN WITH JUST ME ON VIDEO TRYING TO TELL YOU WHAT TO DO, BUT WE'RE ALL FEELING THE SAME - WE NEED TO KEEP DANCING & REMEMBER HOW MUCH WE ALL LOVE DANCING, SO I'M GOING TO PUT A VIDEO LINK UP HERE EACH WEEK - PLEASE WATCH THEM SO THEY CAN REMIND YOU WHY DANCING IS SO IMPORTANT TO YOU, & HOW MUCH YOU ENJOY IT
The Dancers School is the oldest established dance school in Gorleston. The school is run by Jayne King, a fully qualified teacher with the I.S.T.D., holding Fellowship status with the society. The school mainly concentrates on classes for children in ballet, tap, modern theatre & jazz dance, with a small selection of adult classes available. There are also singing & acting classes for children at the school.
Jayne is also a certified teacher of PBT and Pilates.
ALISANDE MIDGLEY & GEMMA STANTON HAVE BOTH BEEN ACCEPTED INTO THE PRESTIGIOUS
LONDON STUDIO CENTRE
BA (HONS) THEATRE DANCE PROGRAMME.
A HUGE WELL DONE TO YOU BOTH!
Coronavirus update - see below
Hope you are all ok and keeping well and happy!
Summer term classes are now available on this website – these will run at the usual timetable times and need to be started within 30 minutes of the start time or you may not be able to watch all the video, as I don't want to leave too many classes up at the same time.
Prices for classes, while they are video rather than live in the studio, are shown on the online classes page.
If you are interested in watching/doing these classes, please text me to receive the password. PLEASE DO NOT SHARE THIS ON SOCIAL MEDIA - IT IS JUST FOR PUPILS OF THE DANCERS SCHOOL, & I NEED TO KNOW WHO IS USING THESE VIDEOS. The sound quality on these is not brilliant (if you can put it through external speakers, it will be a lot clearer) .
Well done to everyone who took part in our Easter challenges - have a look at the photos to see what pupils were up to! The physical challenges will probably pop up again during this half term.
In line with the latest government advice to stop the spread of coronavirus, I have made the difficult decision to close The Dancers School at the end of classes on Saturday March 21st until further notice, in order to protect the well-being of all pupils and their families.
Exams for the school were scheduled for two days in May (Tap - Primary, Grades 1, 2, 3, 4 & 6), June (Ballet – Primary, Grades 3, 4, 6) and July (Modern – Bronze Jazz, Grades 1, 2, 5, Intermediate).
In light of the current situation, the ISTD have currently cancelled all exams until mid-June, and I am clearly unsure how much of a delay this will create in getting May dates rescheduled, although I am re-applying for July dates.
I will update you as to when classes can start again as soon as I have that information, and will let you know any confirmed exam dates when I receive them.
In the meantime, let’s hope we all stay fit and healthy, and can get back to some degree of normality relatively soon.
Please text or email me if you have any questions, and check the website for any updates.
